Qualicum Affordable Housing Now Open with 34 Units

QUALICUM PARK VILLAGE OPEN AS OF DEC. 2015:

All of the people involved in Qualicum Affordable Housing are proud to announce that as of May 2015, the entire Qualicum Park Village complex is now completed. We now house a number of residents and are accepting new applications from people looking for reasonably-priced housing in Qualicum.

Here's a small snippet from an article written by the PQB News at our Opening Ceremony, last December.

The first residents moved in early this year, but partners and residents gathered Friday to celebrate the official opening of affordable housing in Qualicum Beach.

Qualicum Park Village replaced the previous Kiwanis housing on the site beside the curling club and now provides 34 town homes for families and seniors.

Town continues contributions the Kiwanis housing project in Qualicum Beach

MORE MONEY FOR HOUSING: Members of the Qualicum Beach town council, past and present, presented a cheque for $115,000 to the Qualicum-Parksville Kiwanis Housing Society last week. Mayor Teunis Westbroek said the money was paid out of a fund the town created by charging developers $2,000 for every non-affordable housing unit they built.
